I definitely recommend reading Midnight Blue. It’s witty, strikingly insightful, poetic, and impactful. I’d like to take a moment to bow down to L.J. Every other aspect of the book is amazing, especially the depth of the characters and the intricacy of relationships. I tried very hard to suspend disbelief, but I just couldn’t let it go completely. However, there is one major plot development that feels way too contrived-so much so that it yanked me out of the pretend world I was blissfully living in. It’s such a phenomenal tour de force that it literally (okay, figuratively) kills me to give it less than 5 stars. I desperately want to give this book 5 stars. I’ve been sitting on this review for two days as I debated my rating. He just doesn’t care-that is, until Indie gets under his skin. He’s cocky, jaded, downright cruel, and massively screwed up.
